Robotics Club

VISION

The field of Robotics have seen a lot of progress in the recent times. And to keep abreast with the latest changes in technologies, to be able to understand the existing, and develop new out of it, we need to focus on this emerging field of technology which is combination of various disciplines like Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science.

Embedded and Robotics systems are playing a big part in our life and will soon become a basic need so being  a world class  technical institution, it’s our responsibility to impart students with skills to develop and understand new technologies and innovations. Our institution is actively involved in robotics projects like the UAV, AUV, UGV and others. To facilitate further development, students spread over different disciplines need to be encouraged and motivated.

Our vision is to bring the students of various branches together, introduce them to basics of robotics and embedded technology, and provide them a platform where they can discuss and solve problems related to this field with their peers. Students can be actively involved in various projects and can work in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition, Control Engineering, Statics and Dynamics of mechanical systems and their mathematical modelling and a lot more.

OBJECTIVE

The objectives for the current Academic Year (2010-11) is:

  1. To encourage more students to join the club and arouse interest in the field of embedded and robotics development.

  2. To start the culture of inter and intra hostel events in DTU campus so that the campus life becomes more interesting.

  3. To bring in new challenges to our students and encourage students to bring in new problems.

  4. To encourage students to discuss about the new and upcoming technologies.

  5. To train and develop student teams which shall then compete in several national and international events round the country.

  6. To bring in experts from other universities to help students exchange ideas and learn from their expertise.

  7. To showcase DTU campus as a Hub of embedded system designers.
