Delhi Technological University offers various Post graduate Programs and specializations in Sciences, Technology, Management and Design departments. DTU is committed to develop Engineering and Scientific temperament of the highest quality among the students and lays great emphasis on the needs of industry, R&D Organizations, and Educational Institutions and the nation. Our courses are designed to provide necessary tools and opportunities for creating skilled professionals with a keen eye for problem-solving, creative thinking and national development.

The entire work of academics is being governed by various provisions of the Act, Statutes, Ordinances and Rules & Regulations made by the authorities of the Delhi Technological University, established by Govt. of NCT of Delhi via Act of 6 of 2009.

ADMISSIONS

The Academic Section, PG DTU is responsible for conducting admission and registration into PG Program(s) of the students who fulfill the requisite eligibility criteria as per the admission brochure.

The course plan offers adequate exposure to novel technological tools and individual attention to ensure that all students can develop their best creative and intellectual potential. Within the general framework, DTU also ensures that students achieve cardinal principles of education through programs like - MOOC and SWAYAM, thus providing ample opportunities for ICT based flexible learning to all students at relevant time periods. The interdisciplinary content of the curricula is based on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) guidelines issued by University Grants Commission (UGC) and equips the students with ability to utilize scientific knowledge foundation for practical and industrial applications.

The PG Section exercises general supervision over the academic work of the university and gives direction regarding and other related activities such as:

i) methods of instruction, curriculum framing and revision
ii) evaluation scheme
iii) timely improvement in academic standards in terms of revision and framing of rules and regulations
iv) fellowship/scholarships disbursal from various organ9sations and government bodies
v) all data records related to PG/PhD
vi) Internships

Thus, every student gets the best opportunity to explore new avenues in life while being able to pursue the desired program.

FUNCTIONS OF THE PG SECTION- ACADEMIC IN M.SC/M.TECH/MBA/M.DESIGN AND PHD PROGRAMS

• Admission(s) and related activities in various PG and Ph.D programmes
• Defining rules and setting up policies into action for the benefit of the society.
• Curriculum sensitization towards social and innovation needs research.
• Maintaining standards of instruction, education and examination within the University.
• Updating and Revising Postgraduate course curriculum in accordance with industry professionals, policy makers and academia.
• The interdisciplinary content of curriculum is based on Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) guidelines issued by University Grants Commission (UGC)
• Contributing to projects involving IQAC along with NBA Accreditation requirements of PG programs of the university.
• Students in the economically challenged sector receive fee reductions, fee waivers, payment of fee in installments.
• All activities related to Ph.D. program of DTU viz., DRC formation, fellowships, contingency, conferences participation (National/ International), Pre –PhD Seminar etc.
• All matters related to B. Tech students (scoring at least 75%) who meet eligibility criteria for direct Ph.D. program.
• Planning conduct of examinations in conformity with the Laws; To appoint examiners, moderators, tabulators and such other personnel for different examinations and maintain examination standards.
• Conducting performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Maintains academic excellence by observing, mentoring, and collaborating with faculty.
• Supporting and developing the vision, mission, and future goals of the department and the university
• Fostering positive morale and cohesiveness throughout the PG/PhD departments.
• Advocating and supporting the university through extracurricular activities like organization of Open House and Graduation Ceremony Days.
