• Shri. Somir Paul worked five years in India before completing his Masters in ME, and MBA in the USA.
• He then went to consulting and entrepreneurship as a founder of two companies-- one in financial services and another in corporate horticultural services.
• Currently he is also the Director and sponsor of a non-profit in education that serves low-income students from high school through college.
Criterion:
"Somir Paul Scholarship" will be awarded on a Merit cum Means basis to one student of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year enrolled in any Engineering discipline at DTU. Eligibility will be based on the student’s academic performance till the preceding semester. DTU will be responsible for the scholarship's administration, including the scholarship fund's management, selection of recipients, and disbursement of funds. DTU will ensure that the selection process adheres to the Merit cum Means basis. The scholarship fund will be managed to make disbursements solely from the interest earned on the principal amount.
