Biography of Donor:

• He served several Blue Chips companies at Bombay, Shriram Refrigeration industries at Hyderabad, Bharat Steel Tubes, Modi Xerox, and Prakash Industries at Delhi for a total of 16 years till 1987.

• During this period, he invested his entire net savings in equity market in IPO and market purchases. He never sold any share once purchased. Many investments died but the survivors are giving him a dividend income more than enough to live very comfortably since 1987 till date.

Criterion:

“Vijay Birbal Gold Medal” for excellence in Engineering. Every year a Medal and a cash award of Rs. 40,000 shall be awarded to one final year student of Mechanical Engineering based on his/her academic performance from I to VI semester (purely on merit basis). The award is for 10 years only and not for the life time.
