Laxmi Mrig, CEO of EUCI, graduated from Delhi College of Engineering in 1968 with a BSEE degree. He came to study at the University of Texas at Arlington
(UTA) in US in Jan 1970 for his MSEE under a research assistantship. After obtaining his MSEE in Power Systems Engineering from UTA, Laxmi joined Stearns
Roger Corp as a Staff Engineer designing fossil and nuclear plants. In 1978 he joined NREL as a senior research engineer designing and simulating electric
power systems using renewable technologies.

Laxmi and Raj started EUCI, a professional development company to educate professionals in energy and other industries in 1986 which has become a leading firm
in providing accredited education and training to professionals in Electric/Gas utilities, Oil/Gas, Water/Wastewater, and Infrastructure industries.
Because of the generosity of US and Indian universities in helping them get their undergraduate and graduate professional degrees and their passion
for encouraging female students to get them started into engineering careers, these scholarships are a small thank you gesture.
Criterion:
Two scholarship amounting to Rs. 60,000/- per annum each shall be awarded to two female students pursuing engineering
degrees preferably in electric power systems/Electrical Engineering.
