DTU has a well-equipped centralized computer centre to cater to the needs of students and faculty in the university. It is housed, in a magnificent
state-of-the-art building having specialized laboratories to provide variety of platforms and computing environment for UG , PG and research students.
240 computers of advanced configuration connected into LAN in two floors providing internet access and programming facilities to all software related
laboratories of all the departments of the college, predominantly CS, SWE, IT, ECE, EE, Physics and Maths departments.
The center is networked through high-end intelligent Juniper/Avaya/CISCO/Brocade/Ruckus manageable switches and possesses round the clock
two leased lines of 10 Gbps link of NKN and 1Gbps link of RailTel with shared bandwidth in different pipes for the Wi-Fi connectivity in the
Library, Academic Departments, Administrative Blocks, Sports Complex, Faculty Residence and Hostel blocks of the campus, with internet facilities
on all the nodes.
Computer programming is an integral part of B.Tech./M.Tech./Ph.D. programs. Besides computer centre is also used for conduct of short term
training programs for staff and
faculty. Computer Centre provides windows software to its users through the Microsoft Open Value Subcription Agreement for Education Solutions .
Licensed Windows software under this agreement can be installed in Institute machines for use by all faculty, students and staff of DTU .
DTU is also the nodal academy
for information storage and management solutions through its DTU-EMC Academy that conducts training programs at Computer centre for
faculty of all the engineering
institutions.
All academic buildings, library, administrative blocks, residential buildings, and all the hostels of DTU are connected using optical fibre
links and around 270 Wi Fi access points.
