After proper screening DTU intakes the best minds for its various courses. The selection processes vary from course to course. For B.Tech DTU selects candidates based on the All India JEE Mains rank. For MBA, DTU considers a candidate's CAT score and after rigorous Group Discussion & Personal Interview rounds, the final candidates are selected.
DTU offers a plethora of academic programmes. These include Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Applied Maths, Biotechnology, Civil, Electronic & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology, Automobile, Production & Industrial, Environment Engineering. A student can pursue Masters from DTU as well, specializing in a field of his choice like Computer Science, Information System, Production, Hydraulic, Signal Processing Engineering and a variety of streams. DTU also offers MBA courses for students and Executive MBA (EMBA) specializing in Marketing, Finance or Human Resources.
Aside from classroom knowledge, DTU offers a student an opportunity to be a part of various clubs, both academic & non-academic. Some of the academic clubs are, The Entrepreneurship Development Cell, opportunity to be a part of technical societies like Society of Robotics (SR-DTU), Institution of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) and many more. As for the non-academic clubs, there are Madhurima - The Music Society, Pratibimb - The Dramatics Society, Kalakriti - The Creative Arts Society, Dhoom - The Dance & Choreography Society and Furore - The Live Events Society. DTU houses a Bio Diesel Laboratory & a TIFAC CORE Laboratories (Fiber Optics) on campus. Apart from the existing R&D facilities, DTU encourages and supports its students to go beyond the fixed curriculum. Examples of this are UAS-DTU (Unmanned Aerial System), Solaris (A solar powered car), Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) and many others.
Since its inception, DTU formerly DCE (Delhi College of Engineering) has accumulated a huge Alumni base working in several industry sectors and domains. Through newsletters and Alumni meets, DTU has maintained its Alumni base all these years. Each year on these meets Silver and Golden Jubilee Batches are felicitated as well. A state of the art, central library covering 5000 square feet housing more than 2 lac books, Computer centers & labs with a steady internet connection, Knowledge Park (WIP), Banking facilities, Guest house, Hostels, Gymnasium, Health center, Canteens & Food joints. DTU is also Wi-Fi enabled campus-wide for its students, researchers and staff.
