Visit by Professors from EPFL



Professor Pramod Rastogi and Proffesor Dimitri Nokakis from L'Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne visited the Delhi College of Engineering and discussed various avenues for students wishing to pursue further education with them and in Europe in General. They discussed various aspects of the life of students and also the many facets of EPFL in particular.
A zone plate is a device used to focus light. Unlike lenses however, zone plates use diffraction instead of refraction. Created by Augustin-Jean Fresnel, they are sometimes called Fresnel zone plates in his honor. The zone plate's focusing ability is an extension of the Arago spot phenomenon caused by diffraction from an opaque disc.
