Prof. Surinder Singh Sur

Prof. Surinder Singh Sur is currently Adjunct Faculty in the University School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Delhi Technological University. He specialises in the field of Environment and Energy sector policy formulation and project execution.

Before this, he was a Guest Faculty at Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University for around six years and taught mainly subjects such as “Regulation & legal issues in power sector”, “Project management”, “Core Electrical Engineering (essentially covering Electric Vehicles)”, “Financial Literacy” and “Entrepreneurship”.

He is empanelled as a Senior Fellow & Jury with SKOCH Group. He has evaluated more than 2000 schemes/projects of Central / State Governments, Non-Governmental organisations, and private organisations as a Jury. The SKOCH award is given for their extraordinary achievements in contributing to society. The SKOCH Award covers the best of efforts in digital, financial and social inclusion.

 

Before retirement (2019):

He is a former Adviser at NITI Aayog (Government of India), with more than 20 years of experience in the formulation of environment/energy sector policies and Government of India schemes/projects. He has worked on the formulation of the Electricity Act, 2003, the Rural Electrification Policy, the Electricity Tariff Policy, etc. He represented India in G20 meetings held in China, Germany and Argentina on environment/energy-related issues. He has worked with international organisations like the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Energy Information Administration, USA and International Energy Agency, Paris, on sustainable development-related issues.
