PROFILE

Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Babu Valluru, born on 15 June 1971 in Kalavapamula, a small hamlet in the Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh, India, exemplifies the transformative power of education, resilience, and purpose. Hailing from a traditional Hindu cobbler family of the historically marginalized Madiga community, he faced early social challenges that would have discouraged many. Instead, these challenges became the foundation of his strength, shaping a journey built on perseverance, hard work, and a deep belief in the life-changing potential of learning. Notably, he became the first person from his community in Andhra Pradesh to choose teaching as a profession at a B.Tech–level Engineering Institution, breaking long-standing social barriers and setting a powerful precedent. From a childhood marked by limited resources to becoming a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Delhi College of Engineering through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recruitment, Dr. Valluru’s life stands as a remarkable testament to rising beyond circumstances and inspiring countless students, scholars, and communities.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science(B.Sc.1991) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (B.Tech 1995) from the Faculty of Physical Sciences and the Faculty of Technology, Nagarjuna University, Guntur. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree (M.Tech.) in Computer Applications in Industrial Drives from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, in 1997. His academic journey culminated in the completion of his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Delhi Technological University in 2018, further reinforcing his dedication to research, innovation, and intellectual growth.

PUBLICATIONS

Dr.Valluru research career of more than two decades, he has authored 54 peer-reviewed research papers, 7 book chapters, 1 book, and 1 multilingual scientific dictionary, and holds 2 Indian patents. His work includes experimental, analytical, and computational contributions to nonlinear control, AI based intelligent systems, and power electronic converters.

Dr. Valluru’s publications appear in reputed venues such as IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and leading international conferences. His research on metaheuristic-tuned controllers, bifurcation analysis, reinforcement learning, and hybrid energy systems has been widely cited and used in subsequent academic studies.

He has supervised 14 M.Tech theses, and currently guides six Ph.D. scholars in advanced topics related to nonlinear control, machine learning applications in intelligent systems, and Power Electronic converter design.
