PROFILE

Mr. Rohan Pillai is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Delhi Technological University (DTU), New Delhi, a position he has held since January 2020. He is also the Associate Lab In-Charge of the Process Control Laboratory, where he supports curriculum-aligned experimentation and modernization of lab infrastructure.

Prior to joining DTU, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Rewa Engineering College, Madhya Pradesh, from June 2016 to January 2020.

Mr. Pillai holds a Dual Degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Microelectronics (EED) from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (2010–2015), where he built a strong foundation in Antenna Design (Design of Metamaterials) and Signal Processing. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi under the supervision of Prof. Sumantra Dutta Roy. His doctoral research focuses on computational neuroscience, with specific interest in biomedical signal and image processing, and deep learning-based early detection of Parkinson’s disease using multimodal data such as EEG and SPECT.

His broader research interests include computer vision, machine learning, biomedical AI, and explainable artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on multimodal neurodiagnostic tools.
