PROFILE
Dr. Mohan Singh Mehata (??. ???? ???? ?????) earned his Ph.D. from Kumaun University, Uttarakhand, and has held prestigious research positions and fellowships in the USA, Japan, China, and Taiwan, including JSPS (Japan), COE (Japan), Michigan Technological University, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Carnegie Mellon University. He is a recipient of multiple honors, including the DST Young Scientist Fellowship, DTU’s annual Research Excellence Award (since 2018), and the Innovation Award. He has published over 140 papers, including three in Nature Publishing Group journals, and holds four granted patents.
He has supervised 10 Ph.D. and 40 Master’s students and has led major funded projects exceeding 2 crore from DST, DAE-BRNS, DST-RFBR, and SERB-DST. Dr. Mehata also serves on the MEXT Fellowship screening committee (Govt. of Japan) and as a jury member/reviewer for INSPIRE-MANAK (DST).
His research focuses on semiconductor and metal nanoparticles, quantum dots and 2D materials with applications in environmental sensing, photocatalysis and optoelectronic devices (including QLEDs).
