PROFILE

Dr. Praveen Kumar joined the Department of Biotechnology at Delhi Technological University as an Assistant Professor in July 2025. His research focuses primarily on cancer biology, with an emphasis on understanding the rewiring of cellular metabolism in cancer cells using multi-omics approaches. He is also interested in exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying therapy-induced resistance in cancer cells to expose metabolic/genomic vulnerabilities in drug resistant cancer cells.

Dr. Praveen’s research further extends on elucidating the molecular mechanisms that drive drug resistance in protozoan parasites, aiming to uncover novel therapeutic strategies.

Prior to joining DTU, Dr. Praveen held postdoctoral fellowships at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, the Institute of Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University, and the School of Life Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the National Institute of Immunology, New Delhi.
