PROFILE

Dr. Shishir Bansal, born on August 27, 1964, has obtained the degree of Bachelor in Civil Engineering in 1985 and Master in Highways Engineering in 1987 from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, LL.B from Delhi University in 1999 and Ph.D in Environmental Engineering from Delhi Technological University in 2020.

He started his service career as a faculty member of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh from Feb. 1987 to Feb. 1990. Thereafter, he joined CPWD in Feb. 1990 through Engineering services examination conducted by UPSC. During his carrier spanning over 35 years in CPWD, he has worked in various capacities from Assistant Executive Engineer to the level of the Special Director General. He has been responsible for the design and construction of various buildings as well as many infrastructure projects like Clover Leaves, Flyovers, Underpass, Elevated Corridors and River Bridge Projects. His achievements lies in implementing various latest Technologies in all kinds of Infrastructure Projects in Capital City New Delhi that includes Cloverleaves, Flyovers, Long elevated corridors, Underpasses, River bridges etc.. Some of the important projects successfully implemented with Q4 i.e. Extra High Quality Assurance in Capital City New Delhi are Cloverleaves to ITO Flyover, Flyovers at Motibagh, Nehru Place, Savitri Cinema and Africa Avenue, Underpass at Madhuban Chowk, Barapulla Elevated Corridor and Signature Bridge at Wazirabad. He has also contributed significantly in construction of number of buildings projects in tough terrains of country like AIIMS at Kashmir, 400 m running track and various Police establishments at Leh, JNVs in all 4 districts of Sikkim, many paramilitary establishments including Baffle type Firing ranges at various locations in Sikkim and North Bengal etc.He is well known for the completion of Signature Bridge in Delhi as Chief Project Manager.

He did his doctorate on the subject “Sustainability studies of Transportation Corridors in Metropolitan City Delhi.” In his research, he created SETU Rating system for Sustainability Evaluation of Transportation structures in Urban Environment (SETU). This is the first time in country where efforts have been successfully done to create a system for evaluation of the infrastructure projects from sustainability point of view.

He has written more than 35 technical papers that have been published in various prestigious journals/ presented in various conferences in India and abroad. Presently, he is an outstation Director of Indian Chapter of American Concrete Institute and Governing Council Member of Indian Concrete Institute.

He is also certified Project Management consultant by PMI USA.

Presently he is running his Project Mangement Consultancy with the name SETU Infra Solutions and also Adjuct Faculty in Department of Environemntal Engineering and Sciences in Delhi Technological Unicersity, Delhi.
