PROFILE

Dr. Bijendra Prasad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Delhi Technological University, with research expertise in sheet metal forming, clad/laminated composites, and material characterization. His research contributions are published in reputed journals such as ASME Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology, Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, and other leading platforms. Prior to his current role, he gained research and development experience at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi and CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal, contributing to projects in thermal systems and smart materials. His teaching interests include machine design, strength of materials, elastic and plastic behaviour of materials, engineering drawing, and solid modeling.

PREVIOUS POSITIONS/ EXPERIENCE

ICAR – IARI , New Delhi (Junior Research Fellow)  - 02/2020 to 08/2020 

  • Worked in DST project entitled as “Development of intervention for microclimate moderation for tractor operator comfort” in the Division of Agricultural Engineering, IARI, New Delhi.

 

CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal (Project Assistant)   - 09/2018 to 02/2020

  • Worked in CSIR project under Health Mission entitled as “Developing Smart material based actuator for Electromyogram (EMG) signal controlled below elbow prosthetic hand”.
  • Designing and Optimization of Prosthetic hand actuator Design with CAD software.
  • Validation of the developed prototype as per the requirement of the prosthetic hand.
  • Exposure to state of art technologies of 3D printing (FDM, SLS, SLA) for printing the Lab Prototype.
