PROFILE
Dr. Bharti Singh is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Delhi Technological University. Prior to joining DTU in 2017, she worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany, where she developed strong expertise in synthesizing high-quality 2D monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides, graphene, and heteroatom-doped graphene for diverse applications. She has received several notable fellowships and research grants, including the DST-INSPIRE Faculty Award, UGC Start-Up Research Grant, AICTE-SPICES, and SERB-SURE research project grant. She has also been sanctioned an equipment matching grant by the University. During her Ph.D. at IIT Delhi, she published her research in reputed international journals and received the “Distinction in Doctoral Research” for her work on copper-oxide-based non-volatile memory devices. Her research contributions span memory devices, gas sensing, and piezoelectric energy harvesting, and she has authored multiple journal and conference papers along with five book chapters.
Dr. Singh has guided more than 30 B.Tech., M.Tech., and M.Sc. students, and has supervised four Ph.D. scholars at DTU. She is currently leading Advanced Materials and Device Group at DTU, where her research group primarily focuses on the synthesis of two-dimensional layered materials and their van der Waals heterostructures using CVD and hydrothermal methods, particularly for mechanical energy harvesting applications.
