Alka Singh

I am working in the Department of Electrical Engineering as a Profesosr. I joined DTU in July 2010 as a Assistant Professor, and  was promoted to Associate Professor from 1st June 2012. From 1June 2015, I am holding the porition of Professor. I have interests in power systems and renewable energy . I am also working as  Associate Dean, Digital Education.

Published approx. 120 papers in National/ International Conferences  and Journals/ Transactions in the research areas of power system/ power quality 

• Research Excellence Awards conferred by DTU for the last five years (2020-2025) continuously for research work
• Outstanding Engineer Award 2022 by IEEE PES Chapter

Projects Handled:

• Successfully completed a SERB-DST granted project for 3 years (2017-2020) titled“Design, Development and Testing of Control and Synchronization of Power Electronics based Converters with Renewable Energy sources”.The project was awarded “O” grade in final assessment.
• Completed a Fast Track Young Scientist Project awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India titled " Modeling and Development of Power Electronics based Controller for interfacing renewable energy sources to utility grid" (2012-2016) for 20.97 lac
• Currently handling FIST Project for Depatment of Elecrical Engg (Jan23 onwards)

  1. WiP (IEEE  Women in Power Conference ) organised on March 11-12, 2017 at IHC, Delhi as Joint Secretary of Conference

  2. Organised Faculty Development Program ( 1week ) on Recent Trends in Switchgear and Protection  under TEQIP in July 2014 at Delhi Technological University

  3 Organised a student contest on “Developing low cost and efficient renewable energy based solutions” in DTU on 7^th October 2016 fully supported by IEEE PES Society

  4. Assised in organising ICPEICES 2016 and IICPE 2012 at DTU

Guided more than 10 Ph.D scholars and around 15 MTech scholars till date.
