The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has seen
a significant growth over the years, especially because of the rapid
advances in electronics, communications and computer engineering. The
department today caters 12D UG students in Electronics & Communication
Engineering in regular daytime program and 3D UG students in evening
B.Tech program with electives in Computer Communication & Electronic
Switching, Fault-Tolerant Computing, Digital Signal Processing and Optical
Communication. The department is collaborating with the Applied Physics
Department of the college and developed a center for excellence and
relevance in optical communication i.e. TIFAC CORE Center in Fiber Optics
& Optical Communication.
The Department regularly organises seminars, workshops and training
programs for giving e.posure to the new developments In various fields
of the Electronics and Communication Engineering. An e~pert lecturer
on MA Dynamic Web-Page Prediction Model Based on Access Patterns to
offer better User Latency· bV Prof. DebaJvoti Mukhopadhyay, Founder
Director of Web Intelligence & Distribu ted Computing Research Lab
and Head of IT and MIS, calcutta Business School; and a seminar cum
workshop on "Design for Testability" In VLSI area In association with ST
Micro Electronics have been organized during 2008.
