Instructions for filling up the form

General :

Read the instructions carefully before filling the form. Use capital letters only. Complete all the items. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. Avoid overwriting. The instructions are given items-wise as per the order in the application form.

1 Write the name as given in the school records.

2(a,b,c,d) As already stated the criterion for deciding the eligibility of an applicant to a seat reserved for a region is the location of school/college from which he/she has studied and passed the Qualifying Examination. Based on the location of the school, reservation category and sub category, if any, identify the codes given in the table in section 3.4.

3(a) Write the Roll No. of AIEEE-2010 Examination as applicable.

3(b,c,d) Write the All India Overall Rank in the respective category and marks obtained in
AIEEE-2010.

4 & 5 Write the desired information. Please note that the admission to the seats indicated is open to Indian Nationals Only.

6(a) Write the date of birth as given in your school records i.e. Class-X.

6(b) If you are under-age, indicate the extent of shortage in month and days in the boxes provided. Shortage is to be calculated by subtracting the age on 01.10.2010 from 17 years.

7 Write the Branch Code in order of your preference; See Annexure.

Example : If the order of preference of branch for a candidate is ECE, SE, COE, EEE, ME, EE, AE, EP, PIE, IT, PCT, CE, BT, ENE He/She will fill the #7 of the application form as :

NOTE: The options indicated in the application form cannot be changed later on. The applicants are required to fill all the preferences, otherwise it will be treated incomplete and liable to be rejected.

8(a, b,c,d,e) Write the name of the Qualifying Examination on the basis of which you are seeking admission. If you have passed more than one examinations listed at para 3.2 you may select anyone. Please note that you are required to submit only an attested photocopy of the marks sheet at this stage. Original marks-sheet is to be shown at the time of admissionWrite the name of the Board/University which conducted the examination listed above. Write the name of the School and State / Union Territory where the school is located.

8(f&g) Calculate the percentage marks obtained in (i) Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as indicated by the Board/University rounded to two decimal places; (ii) PCME percentages as calculated by adding Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English percentage and dividing by 4. Aggregate percentage means the total which is considered by the Board/University of the classification of the result. Write you category and sub category (if any) in the appropriate box. The certificate is to be signed by the candidate after writing the caste (Applicable for reserved category candidates only).

9, 10, 11, Write the desired information.

12 & 13 14 According to the requirements for admission a candidate must have passed English as a subject at X class or XII class level. Indicate the higher examination in English passed.

15 Enter the desired information.

16 This certificate is to be signed by the Principal of the School where the candidate studied last. Name and address of the school is to be shown at the appropriate place.

17 Enclose the desired certificates and tick in appropriate boxes.

18,19 The undertaking(s) are to be signed by the candidate/parent/guardian as the case may be, with date and place. The completed Application Form for B.Tech. admission is to be submitted to Joint Registrar (Admn.), Delhi Technological University, Shahbad Daulatpur, Bawana Road, Delhi-110042.

The Last date for receipt of the completed Application Form is 21.06.2010 (Monday) at DTU. DTU shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss. The candidate must ensure that the DTU receives duly completed application on or before the last date. All applications received after the last date stand rejected automatically

Upgradation to a Branch of Higher Preference

i. A candidate who has been admitted to a Branch other than his/her first choice will automatically be transferred, as per his/her merit in AIEEE-2010, to a Branch of his/her higher preference as indicated in his/her Application. The list of the students with upgraded branches will be displayed periodically. Notifications in this respect will be issued by the Chairman, B.Tech. Admission Committee.

ii. Freezing
In case a candidate desires to continue in the branch allotted to him/her at the time of admission or a subsequent upgradation, other than his/her highest preference indicated in his/her Application then he/she must submit, a request in the prescribed proforma to the Chairman, B.Tech. Admission Committee for freezing the same. Similarly a branch once upgraded, the new allotted branch may also be got freezed within one day after the upgradation. Any freeze request made later may not be entertained.

iii. Once an upgradation list is issued, it is mandatory for the students to shift to the new branch. Request for reversion to the old branch will not be entertained.

iv. The syllabus for first semester for all the branches is the same. No change of section will be done during the first semester classes. Once the final upgraded list is displayed (likely on 31.12.2010), the change of branches will be affected immediately, as per the final list. No. change/shift will be allowed thereafter.
