Admissions

Selection Procedure

All the applications received will be short listed on the basis of performance in GATE and qualifying examination for Full-time and Part-time Programs respectively. The short listed candidates will be called for interviews as per the following schedule.
Interview for full time candidates 10:00 a.m. Thursday, 11.06.2009
Interview for part-time candidates 10:00 a.m. Thursday, 11.06.2009
List of eligible candidate for interview & test shall be made available on college website www.dce.ac.in & www.dce.edu
NOTE:-

  1. Candidates are advised to make railway reservation etc. before hand.

  2. If any candidate fails to appear in the interview on the scheduled date, he/she will not be considered for admission.
  1. All the applicants (both the full-time and part-time Programs) must appear for an interview (compulsory) before the appropriate board constituted as follows:
    1. Head of the concerned Department in the College (Chairman).

    2. All the Professors in the respective Department.

    3. All the Professors in the respective Department.

    4. Two assistant professors in the concerned department by rotation in order of seniority.


  2. Admission of a sponsored candidate for full time Programs (without scholarship) will be governed by merit as per the procedure laid down for the admission.

  3. All the eligible candidates (Part Time & Sponsored) are required to appear in a written test which will be conducted on 12.06.2009 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. The candidates will be interviewed on the same day at 2 P.M.

  4. The merit list of candidates for admission to all the Programs will be prepared by apportioning the following weightage to their performance in GATE (for Full Time) or in qualifying examination (for Part Time) and the written test (for Part Time) and Viva Voce as mentioned below:

    1. The list of selected candidates along with the wait-list will be put up on the notice board of the concerned department on 15.06.2009 by 5.00 p.m.

    2. Selected Candidates will be required to submit the original Certificates and pay fees at the time of admission.

    3. No admission will be made directly to second or higher year of any Program.

    4. Candidates securing less than 50% in the merit list will not be admitted. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit.

    5. For purposes of merit, weightage of 5 marks will be given to candidates passing B.Sc. (Hons.) Program in Physics from Delhi University or equivalent examinations for admission to M.Sc. (Applied Physics) Program.
