WORK EXPERIENCE

From Nov 1977 to Jan 1979, worked as Asstt. Engineer in U.P. Jal Nigam on design and execution of water supply, sewerage and drainage works; therefore project design, execution and management exposure on large scale public works.

In DCE/DTU he is involved in Consultancy, Teaching ME/M.Tech/ B.E /B.Tech , Research etc. Has wide experience in the interdisciplinary areas of Science and technology such as Water and Waste water Engineering, Environmental hydraulics , CFD Modelling, Environmental sustainability, Bio energy, Bio-Technology, Green Infra, Environmental management etc.

  • Actively involved in organizing Conferences, Seminars, handling administrative responsibilities, and playing key role in different arenas of Engineering & Management .He is also involved in apex decision making, as a member of different expert committees of (GOI) Govt. of India and other reputed organizations. Has wide experience in the interdisciplinary areas of Science and technology and have gained International exposure by attending at least 100 conferences in India and abroad etc. eg 8th International Conference on Anaerobic Digestion (organised by IAWQ, London ) Sendai, Japan, May 1997., 9th World Congress on Anaerobic digestion (Organised by International water Association ), Antwerpen, Belgium, Sept, 2001.etc.

  • He played a key role in the planning, framing and instituting of BE Environmental Engg Programme in DCE (started in 1998). He has also been involved in curriculum development not only for BE Environmental Engg but also for other programs & proposed a common core course in Environmental Education for all Engineering Branches. BE Environmental Engg Programme provided opportunity to look for resource persons in several organizations like NTPC, NHPC, CII, CPCB, and other organizations like AICTE, GOI (Govt. of India) and different Ministries, UPSC, UGC,BIS, FICCI, UNDP,USAID etc.

  • He has participated in number of activities involving collaboration and interaction with other organizations. Carried out R&D projects in collaboration with TERI, Centre for Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi& IARI, NPL New Delhi.

  • Has membership of several professional bodies both National and International( last 30 years)

  • Has been involved in organizing Seminars/ Workshops/ Conferences at DCE/DTU and outside. Some important programmes are listed as under

*National Workshop on “Challenges in the management of Water Resources and Environment in the next millennium- Need for Inter Institute Collaboration” during Oct 99. This workshop was organized in association with Indian Water Resources Society & Indian Society for Hydraulics.

* National Conference On “Innovative approaches in the Management of Environment” in collaboration with Indian Association for Environmental Management, Nagpur during Oct 2003.

* organized more than 5 National Conference as organizing Secretary/ Chairman under the aegis of Institution of Public Health Engineers ( India) in the last 3-4 years.

  • Awarded prize for best paper in the Journal of : Indian Water Works Association., Mumbai during 1989

  • Awarded certificate of achievement by Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi for guiding best ME/ MTech thesis in Civil Engg in the whole country during 1998.
