Prof. GIRISH CHANDRA MAHESHWARI (b. June 7, 1950) is currently professor of Management at Delhi Technological University. Prior to this he has been Dean and Professor of Management (Finance, Accounting and Strategy Area) of Faculty of Management Studies, The M.S. University of Baroda. A Graduate (1970) and post-graduate (1972), (securing first rank in both) in Commerce from Agra University (1972), he obtained his Ph.D. degree from University of Delhi (1984). His Doctoral Research on Measurement of Business Income: A Study of Selected Corporate Enterprises in India was published as a book titled Business Income and Changing Prices (Academic Publications, Delhi). His teaching assignments spanned over four decades included stints at Delhi University (1972-1983), Indian Institute of Technology- Delhi (1983-84) and culminating at The MS University of Baroda (1984-2012). He has been author of several books (13) on Management and Accounting of which five are published by NCERT. He has published research papers (60) in national (50) and international journals (10) including Asian Accounting Review, Metamorphosis, Vikalpa and International Journal of Management. Besides, he is on the editorial boards of several research journals. He has guided Masters’ projects (265) and Ph.D. theses (completed 8), in-progress 1), presented papers in national and international seminars and symposia. His two papers have won prizes from Institute of Chartered Secretaries of India, New Delhi. Recipient of several prizes, awards and gold and Chancellor’s medal, he has been conferred fellowship by Indian Accounting Association in 2008 in recognition of his contribution to accounting education and research. He is visiting faculty to more than two dozen Universities, and institutes of higher learning. He has extensive administrative experience in the capacity of Bursar (1974-75) and Head of the Department and Dean (2005-2012). He has been on several academic bodies of different Universities and member of the Senate and Syndicate including Director’s nominee at Indian Institute of Technology- Delhi. He was Vice-Chancellor’s nominee on the Syndicate and Senate of The M S University of Baroda (2011-12). He has been on number of UGC committees on project evaluation and funding,and member of NAAC peer review team His areas of interest cover Financial and Management Accounting, Accounting Theory, Financial Management, Strategic Management.
