Areas of Interest

• Synthesis of one dimensional nanostructures of the composite metal oxides using carbothermal and hydrothermal method and their applications as a sensing material in gas sensors and as a photoanode material for the generation of green energy using water splitting. • Study of the complex thermoelectric materials and investigation of their phase dependent optical, electrical and dielectric properties. • Study of the piezoelectric materials for energy harvesting and sensing applications

  • Synthesis of nanowires of SnO2, ZnO and other metal oxides using physical vapour depositions (PVD), chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and Hydrothermal techniques.
  • Synthesis of nanoparticles of composite metal oxides i.e. Cadmium Tin Oxide (CTO) and Zinc Tin Oxide (ZTO) using chemical method.  
  • Experience with various material characterization tool: X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy for structural properties, two and four probe I-V using probe station for electrical studies, scanning and transmission electron microscope.
