About Cosmology:

Cosmology is the study of large scale structure and evolution of the Universe as a whole. It endeavors to use the theoretical and observational method to understand the origin, evolution and ultimate fate of the entire Universe. Like any other field of science, cosmology also involves the formation of theories or hypotheses about the Universe which makes specific predictions for phenomena that can be tested with observations. In the last few years it has entered a qualitatively new phase, driven by experimental results. Depending on the outcome of the observations, the theories need to be abandoned, revised or extended to accommodate the data. The prevailing theory about the origin and evolution of our Universe is the so-called Big Bang theory. The quest for understanding the geometry and space time relationship of the Universe is the central aim of cosmology. Cosmologists propose that the history of the Universe has been governed entirely by physical laws. There are two fundamental pillars of the modern Cosmology: General Theory of Relativity and Cosmological Principle.

My current research interest are the Gravitation and Cosmology, especially in understanding the recent acceleration of the Universe and dark energy.  I have also been working on Viscous and matter creation cosmology, modifed theory of gravitation, like, f(R) gravity, f(R,T) gravity, Scalar -tensor theories, etc.
